and Monday Miscellany

Nothing much happening this Queen's Birthday Holiday Monday
in the sense of there not being any visitors ... which I think is the first time that's happened since I went bush
so just David, Bear and moi - and an augmented complement of cats, as we're playing host to the Grandkittens while Chris and Nadie are escaping the winter up in Queensland.
Feline fisticuffs have been kept to a minimum but Suki's still hissing at me, Sumi is under Nadie's bed, Sophie is under mine, and MissC is just generally not happy, and has taken her ill feelings out on Mr "I am a Nervous Wreck" Bear, who has declared himself an asylum seeker under David's benevolent protection

and Oakley is just doing his best to ignore everyone.

there was knitting of course [ to be detailed termorrer]
and, please don't collectively die of shock, I started a new quilt [ also to be detailed on the 'morrow ]

so you're getting another serving of photos that didn't fit in anywhere else:

MissC has resumed her torrid on-again-off-again affair with Threebie [ big brown bear ]

Isn't this sweet? Rowan and Ruby have been sticking very close to mum - and the house - although I must say that Rosie's eye being mashed into the brickwork doesn't look all that comfortable.

and speaking of uncomfortable eyes [ good segue, huh ? ]
Thankyou all for the kind healing wishes
... the black eye is now sort of burgundy with touches of that oh so attractive old bruise yellow, the golf ball on the cheekbone has gone, leaving the whole side of my face right down to my jaw tender to the touch ... as I rediscover every time I roll over in bed.
I've been hibernating this long weekend so no one's seen it, but tomorrow life resumes and I will no doubt discover just how effective my concealer is.

How can one possibly pick a favorite photo with all of these gems???

It was great seeing a photo of your son and especially protecting our little Bear. Bear looks adorabel all curled up like that.

The kitty looks really good with the stuffed bear.

Then your too cute goats, all snuggled up against the window (the eye does look a little uncomfortable, tho). Do you have milking goats or will there ever be babies?

My friend Mimi used to breed hers rather regularly and then I would run over there as soon as the babies were born so I could hold and cuddle them!

Your miscellany thing is working well...I like it a lot...may try it myself.

blessings and hugs,

marcy

Love that second photo of David and Bear...little opportunist but how good for David he must be.
Well I hope so.....it looks so.
That is probably the most endearing goat photo I have seen.
Human kids still being my favorite form thereof.
I am bloomin freezing....of course there is no heater on and I only have a nightie on.....moggie is in bed......she is no fool.

Catsmum, I loved your Monday Miscellany, the cats, dog, goats and your son all take wonderful pictures (or you do) so much fun to read and see everything. Is your weather getting any better?
Have a great Monday....:)Hugs

Those goats are so cute! David is adorable with his Bear! As to concealer...don't use it! Just tell all who ask, "You should see the OTHER guy!"

Blessings - Rosie is Ruby and Rowans mum, but she got very sick while she was producing milk in any quantity so the kids had to be weaned quickly. She still produces a little milk but is not up to more, possibly as a result of being malnourished as a kid herself. Mum won't risk breeding her again. Robbyn was never bred because of her size and whether the twins will be largely depends on whether an unrelated billy ever makes himself available.

Those pictures of Bear and David are just the sweetest! I think that Bear chose well when he went looking for protectors.

as an addition to Nadie's comment above, just in case anyone is in any doubt ... I'M not the one who starved poor Rosie. She was a rescue animal, surrendered back to the breeder one jump ahead of the threat of RSPCA proscecution. Neither the breeder, the vet nor myself realised how much of a drain the pregnancy/birthing and milking would be, and as a result I nearly lost her. The main reason that I haven't bred either of the twins [ apart from the need for a suitable buck ]is that I just couldn't sell or give away any babies and I have enough large herbivores to feed already.

Awwwww, what cute pictures. It's nice to have a lap dog that doesn't weigh a hundred pounds.
