David's Carers are organised, Nadie will come up for two weeks once I'm out of hospital and Ms Beryl after that, and now after 6 months of waiting for appointments and invasive tests, it's just on the horizon.

Honey, I did it last year - and while I have to say the post surgery period was NOT fun, it was the best thing to do and my life has improved GREATLY. Sending all the healing and love in the world and in return all you have to do is: SEND ME YOUR SNAIL MAIL ADDY PLEASE!!

It's a transition, that's for sure. And one can't help but be anxious about surgery of any kind. I'll be thinking all sorts of good thoughts for you and speedy healing. Everyone I know who has had this surgery was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly it went, if that helps at all.
I hope the next few days goes quickly for you (sometimes waiting is the worst part) and I'm sure the company of family, friends and canine/feline/goaty/birdy companions will help you in the next few weeks.
