Black Saturday

These were taken in what should have been broad daylight at about 5pm on Black Saturday
by Crazyhaberdasher who has recently moved down to Gippsland, and rather closer than was comfortable to the fires at Churchill.
Those white spots are hot ash.
The colour of that sky is ...
oh words fail me

Apocalyptic? I remember during the 2003 Canberra & region fires, I was driving towards the coast that day, and it got quite dark in the middle of the day, then lighter late in the afternoon. It was the weirdest feeling, like a dawn at the wrong end of the day. Nothing like this red sky though, they are amazing photos.

My dear God is all I could say. And to think what caused all this. One can't help but shiver

That's unreal...amazing photographs. My thoughts and prayers are with all the people affected by this tragedy. It's been all over the news in Canada.

2 memorial services this week. Not able to cope with the crows and sitting or standing for so long, so did not go. Part of Greg Lloyd's was on Ch 9, had Dentist appointment in the middle of that but it had over 1000 and Dr Ken Rowe in Surrey Hills/Wattle Park, Vic, yesterday..again standing room in multi outer rooms etc.
But also yesterday a visit from the parents of a young Mum, two young children and a dog and one horrific drive out of Marysville. Dad is also fine. So that part is good to hear.

I did mean crowds not crows.
Almost freudian. Thinking of old funerals and black clothing. But they were not at all like that.

PS: I have a giveaway
