The Domestic Staff is otherwise engaged ...

... Dr Who Marathon on UKTV this Queen's Birthday Holiday long weekend apparently.

so I've commandeered the blog again to show you the sort of nonsense we have to put up with around here
seriously
Is this anyway to treat Royalty ?
If I wasn't such benevolent ruler I would have fired her on the spot.

  2. Sophie dear...just be thankful that you did not have to pat and pretend to have claws out to get the staff out of bed by 2.30PM today. Her story is she fed me and had a coffee around 10.00 and yesterday was stressful for her.....Poor old duck.
And she has gone crazy buying these things that look like onions but have pictures of flowers on the packet. The table is covered with them. And I have lost count of how many times she has come home with these this year.

HRH Sophie; purple is just a very regal colour for a regal feline.

  5. Oh my (pardon me for laughing) but how cute you look with that hat on ;-)

Pretty hat, but dear Sophie, you are a thousand times prettier than that hat :-)

  6. Awesome! Methinks Sophie is very elegant in her purple hat!

I love the hat, too! How did you do that? I keep staring at the cat in the hat (!! pun intended) and wonder how it went together.

  7. hi Kate
the baby hat was just something I improvised - it was knitted sideways with short row shaping at one end of the row and a cable at the other - can write it as a free pattern if anyone would like me to.

  8. A purple crown fit for a queen. Or possibly an Empress...
Love the hat, and the color!

  9. Thank you Susan! I would love to have the pattern! My yarn group has an ongoing project of knitting hats, booties and blankets for our local hospital's neonatal intensive care unit. Your purple hat is so lovely and different from the usual patterns. Thanks!

  12. Sophie girl, I know you don't like having things on your head, but that hat and colour really do look very good on you. Kudos for having the patience and grace to leave it on long enough for photos.
