actually I hadn't thought of that approach ... 't would work but I'm sorta over bargellos ... I was seeing more a freehand cut curves with maybe some really teeny tiny strip piecing across some of them to look like the fractured quartz seam

Those are great shots! I'm always seeing patterns I wish I could duplicate. Sadly, my quilting skills are, shall we say, "limited" :)
